Fiber adapter connections

Please note that your fiber adapter may look like this, but the same cabling will apply if your adapter looks different than the pictures in this guide,

Some locations need only one adapter in the exam room. Other locations require one in the exam room and a second in the Electrical / Telephone room. 20/20 IT will know which applies to you depending on the Internet connection that was setup in your location.

Please prepare fiber adapter by removing any covers that may be over the fiber input to the left of the green lights:

Fiber cables can now be inserted once the cover is removed.

Please examine fiber cables to determine if there is a cover on the terminals:

Remove cover to expose the fiber connection:

Please insert both cables into the fiber adapter. Please note there are plastic tips that can allow the fiber adapter to go into the adapter one specific way. Please do not force the connection if it does not fit.

Some cables are separated or attached to each other. This also varies depending on your location.

Cables will click in once they are inserted all the way

Now connect an ethernet cable to the ethernet port

Your unit may also look like this when all cables are inserted

If you are in the exam room, please connect this cable to the red watchguard device on port #2

If you are in a server room, this will need to be connected to a cable modem:

Both adapters do need to have the power cable connected and plugged into an electrical outlet:

Once these devices are in place IT will check the connection to verify everything is working as it should.
