2FA 2-Factor Authentication

The IT team is consistently working on improving our EMR’s features and security. We will be deploying two-factor authentication (2FA) for all doctors, remote technicians, and the Corporate team members next Thursday 6/20/2024 to improve our application’s security. 2FA adds an extra layer of security making it significantly more difficult for unauthorized individuals to gain access to our EMR.

Before the launch date, please follow the instructions below to get yourself set up with the proper 2FA mobile app to prevent any delays for logging in on Thursday 6/20/2024

Set Up 2FA on Your Phone

Step 1: To get set up, download this app onto your phone:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.authenticator2&pcampaignid=web_share

After that, go to https://staging.for2020now.com and sign in like usual with your current EMR username and password. Here's what you should expect:

  1. you sign in with your username and password
  2. you are presented with a QR code to scan
  3. scan that QR code WITHIN the authenticator app from Google that you just installed on your phone or other smart device. If you try to use any other QR code scanner, nothing will happen. Within the app is a little plus button in the lower right that expands to several options when clicked. One of those options is "scan QR code".
  4. once you scan the code, it'll give you a time-sensitive 6-digit code. enter that code into the EMR page where the QR is.
  5. You should now be able to access the staging EMR environment freely

Please remember to log out of the testing EMR instance to do your daily work. This is important since this staging instance is essentially the real EMR with the added feature of the 2fa system. So, if you stay in staging for any work, your changes will be real. Please don't change real patient charts to reflect illegitimate information thinking that the "staging" system doesn't matter. Once you log in and verify the 2fa works within the expected time frame that we're testing, you can go back to the real EMR and do everything as normal there.

Reminder - Please log out of the testing EMR instance to do your daily work
