Duplicate Patient Information in EMR

If you are seeing a repeat patient who has a previous exam in the EMR and you're noticing that the previous information has been pulled forward, that's how the system works and there's nothing wrong.

All you need to do is go over the data and update what needs to be updated (surgeries, medications, etc). If the data is the same, you can leave it as is.

When performing the external testing, just update the chart with todays test results. You can use last exam's data to help with the testing process. For instance, if you see that they had restricted fields last exam, you can potentially expect restricted fields on todays pre-test as well.

Just remember: gray bubbles are not part of todays exam. If you perform a test or verify any data, you need to click that field to activate it and make the bubbles white! Otherwise it's not a valid exam component for todays visit.
