How to Attach a Contact Lens Video to Chart

In order to assess the healthy fit and prescription of a contact lens, the 20/20NOW doctors will need to view a video of the patient wearing the contact lenses.   The videos are taken with the digital slit lamp.  Once the videos are taken of each eye they need to be uploaded into the proper encounter, and also uploaded to the proper contact lens brand RX.

Contact Lens Videos are taken:

  • When patient arrives for their exam and you need to document the fit of their current pair.
  • The doctor requests the patient try a trial of a new brand or RX while they are onsite, and there is the trial available onsite.
  • Trials need to be ordered and He pateint wear the trial at home for a week and arrives for a contact lens followup exam and the doctor would like to view the fit of a new brand or trial.

Uploading a Video to Contact Lens RX

Step 1: Pull up the encounter of the corresponding patient.

Go to the Contact lens section of the Encounter.  Click anywhere within the RX area of the brand that the videos belong to.

⭐ If the RX does not expand when you click it, make sure you are not clicking on the left hand side where the "print" and "duplicate" buttons are.  If you are clicking in the correct place, refresh the page by clicking the refresh button on the top of your web browser.

At the bottom of the expanded area is a button named "Attach Videos".  Click on that button

Within the pop up, you can select the videos you want or click "select all" then click "import images"

You will then see it attached to the rx:

The system automatically saves the video attachment.   To leave this area and complete another task click on any of the dark gray area.

If the doctor requested a trial while patient was onsite and the chart gets signed in the interim, you will not be able to upload the video into the chart.  It is locked. If the chart is locked and reach out to the Tech Team on your "TECHS" Zoom Chat and they will unlock the chart for you.

If the patient arrives for a CL followup, you must start a new encounter and list the "exam type" as "Contact Lens Followup"
